The Foreign Office has issued a warning to Brits travelling to Spain over their choice of clothing
The Foreign Office has said that "in some parts of Spain it's illegal to be in the street wearing only a bikini or swimming shorts. Being bare-chested is also illegal in some areas in Spain. You could be fined if you're caught wearing swimwear on the seafront promenade or adjacent streets.
"For security reasons, some public authorities in Spain do not allow the burka or niqab to be worn in their buildings. If you visit town council buildings wearing a burka or niqab, you may be asked to remove it while inside." A local Spaniard responded to the warning, stating: "The shirt thing is "iffy". I'm not sure what the motivation would be, particularly in beachfront areas. But perhaps the British government is trying to somehow encourage improving the sordid reputation of "Brits abroad"? ", reports Birmingham Live."Or maybe trying to scare Brits away from Spain as a "punishment" for not allowing Brits to do whatever they please? It's a mystery.
