More people will be in court today as the cases of those involved in riots see their sentences fast-tracked. There is concern disorder could ramp up again this weekend as the football season begins, with rising temperatures also a factor.
Police in Greater Manchester and Merseyside have released new images of people wanted in connection with the disorder of the last week.It comes as courts are already sentencing people for taking part in the violence, with jail terms of up to three years handed down so far.Fears of more than 100 far-right demos faded away on Wednesday night as thousands of anti-racism protesters turned out instead.
Merseyside Police also released CCTV pictures of people they want to trace after disorder in Liverpool and Southport.'To anyone intent on causing disorder here, I have one clear message: we will find you, and we will put you before the courts,' warned Merseyside Detective Superintendent Paul Speight.Another series of images - including suspects wanted over disorder outside a hotel in Rotherham - were released earlier on Thursday.
