An Anchorage man with ties to alleged Arkansas crimes was arrested by law enforcement on Thursday in the Matanuska-Susitna Borough.
Fastcast digital headlines for Friday, May 3, 2024.ANCHORAGE, Alaska - the arrest of 37-year-old Latrael Hackathron — who had an extraditable warrant out for his arrest — came after a vehicle pursuit and foot chase near Colony High School in Palmer.
Troopers say the Highway Interdiction K9 Team saw Hackathron’s “suspicious” silver Chevy Silverado around 6 p.m. in Wasilla and learned the Anchorage Police Department had instructions to identify the truck’s occupants. According to troopers, the ID instructions were connected to an eluding case among Anchorage police jurisdiction.
When the highway interdiction team commanded the vehicle to stop, it took off, at one point entering the yard of a residence. Near Colony High School, Hackathron fled authorities by foot but did not get far.Thursday’s hubbub added three Alaska charges: failure to stop, criminal mischief, and resisting arrest. Authorities are investigating whether there is additional illegal drug activity involved.Wasilla and Palmer police departments assisted in Hackathron’s arrest.
