A red weather warning has been issued
The Met Office has issued a rare red weather warning ahead of Storm Darragh, which is set to batter the UK with strong wind and rain over the weekend.
"It is very likely that there will be a risk to life, with substantial disruption to travel, energy supplies and possibly widespread damage to property and infrastructure. You should avoid travelling, where possible, and follow the advice of the emergency services and local authorities." The Met Office will provide warnings for the next seven days, and these get updated regularly as they get new information.
