Nottinghamshire Police seized a zombie-style knife from a flat in Nottingham city center after responding to a disturbance. A 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon in a private place. Police emphasized the importance of surrendering any offensive weapons to authorities to avoid legal repercussions.

Officers from Nottinghamshire Police responded to a report of a disturbance at a flat on Bath Street in Nottingham city center around 12:35 am on Tuesday, January 28. Upon entering the property, officers discovered a zombie-style knife located next to a sofa. A 30-year-old man present at the flat was subsequently arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon in a private dwelling.

Nottinghamshire Police confirmed that there was no indication the weapon had been used to inflict harm on anyone. Following the arrest, Inspector Andrew Hallam issued a public warning concerning the possession of offensive weapons. Inspector Hallam stated, 'We’re pleased to have seized this weapon, taken it out of harm’s way and arrested a suspect. The officers who attended should be commended for their alertness when attending the incident. Storing a zombie-style knife in a private place is an offence under the Offensive Weapons Act. It’s important that anyone who owns one of these knives, along with other offensive weapons like knuckle dusters, curved swords, or extendable batons, hands them over to the police so they don’t get into trouble.
