Benefit payments due at the end of this month will be affected.
HM Revenue and Customs recently confirmed that Child Benefit and Guardian’s Allowance payments due before Christmas Day will not be affected by bank holidays on December 25 and 26. However, parents or primary care givers due to receive a payment on Monday, December 30 will not receive the money until the following day, Tuesday, December 31.
The update was issued by the Department for Work and Pensions when it provided a revised festive payment schedule for people on Universal Credit. The payments schedule for Tax Credits, State Pensions, disability and devolved benefits issued by Social Security Scotland due between December 25 and January 2 have also been revised.
