The first deputy, who resigned with the clerk of courts on Friday, will have to pay the difference for incorrectly entering the case’s back in April.

Michael Bagdes-Canning , 70, sits in front of the Mangia Qui restaurant in downtown Harrisburg as State Sen. Mike Regan approaches and prepares to pull Bagdes-Canning to the ground. A Dauphin County Jury convicted Bagdes-Canning of obstructing highways and disorderly conduct for blocking the entrance to the restaurant.Dauphin County Judge William Tully handed down one of the more unusual orders of his career at a Monday afternoon hearing.

A Dauphin County jury convicted Bagdes-Canning of illegally blocking the entrance to a restuarant that was hosting a state senator’s fundraiser last year on April 17. Tully sentenced him to 90 days of unsupervised release, a $200 fine and ordered Bagdes-Canning to pay “court costs.” That’s because Goodman incorrectly recorded that Bagdes-Canning pleaded guilty April 17, when he’d actually been found guilty after a jury trial.
