A number of areas in Lancashire have been hit by power cuts this morning following adverse weather conditions. Many of us have woken up to blankets of snow on the ground in the region, as heavy snowfall hit the county overnight. As a result, a number of homes are also experiencing power cuts at the moment. In Lancashire, areas hit with the heavy snowfall have been affected, according to Electricity North West.
They say power cuts have been caused by an unexpected incident on the high voltage cable providing electricity to homes and businesses. If anyone is experiencing a power cut, the electricity company says that people should keep a safe distance from any electrical equipment and cables to avoid accidents, injuries and even fatalities. Here is a list of areas in Lancashire that have been hit by power cuts and their current status: Woodplumpton, Preston The power cuts were first reported at 5.42am and the Electricity North West team are currently on their way. Lines are expected to be restored at 4pm today. 20 properties are without supply, with the following postcodes affected: PR4 0UA, PR4 0TQ, PR4 3YH, PR4 0TJ, PR4 0TT, PR4 0UB, PR4 3XB, PR4 3ZJ, PR4 0UF, PR4 3YJ, PR4 0TP, PR4 0TL, PR4 0TU, PR3 0XH, PR4 0FU Preesall, Wyre A cut in power for Preesall was first reported at 6.15am and the team are currently on site, with restoration expected at 4p
