A plasterer who subjected a dad to a 'completely unprovoked attack' was spared prison but banned from Rubber Soul following the Father's Day brawl
A man was left scarred for life after being glassed in a Mathew Street bar. Ryan Holland subjected his victim to the vicious and unprovoked attack after a brawl broke out while he was out celebrating Father's Day in Rubber Soul. The injured dad's children recoiled in horror at the sight of his 'nasty' facial wound and he counts himself 'lucky not to have lost an eye' or 'worse' during the shocking assault.
I had problems sleeping for several weeks following the assault and I had a fear of going out for a long time. 'I often think I'm very lucky not to have lost an eye or had something worse happen to me. One of the things that upset me most was the reaction of my children. I have three young children. Although they don't know what happened, they were worried about their dad. The children didn't want me to go out in case I got hurt again.
