A medium-sized egg contains roughly 6 grams of protein, whereas a 30-gram serving of almonds provides about 7 grams of protein. Moreover, almonds' nutritional profile includes healthy fats, vitamin E, magnesium, and fibre, making them a more comprehensive option for those aiming to enhance their diet and physical performance.

Dr Sarah Berry, an associate professor in nutritional sciences at King's College London and chief scientist at Zoe, has praised the benefits of snacking on almonds. She explained that while a nutritious meal is always beneficial, people often negate these benefits by indulging in unhealthy snacks like crisps and biscuits.

Dr Berry elaborated: "We know from the research I've done that if you eat almonds, about 30 per cent of the calories on average are excreted because of the almond's food 'matrix' or structure, so they're a great satisfying snack."
