Driver critical after crashing into two cars in Airdrie

Police say the man is being treated for 'life-threatening injuries' after he was involved in two collisions in Airdrie.

Police said the silver Nissan Qashqai hit a parked van in the town's High Street before striking a red Qashqai on nearby Aitchison Street.

Officers closed off the road for eight hours following the incident, which happened at about 20:50 on Saturday. The driver was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow where he is being treated for "life-threatening injuries".Officers have appealed for anyone in the area with information or dashcam footage to
