Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola spoke about what Rico Lewis brings to the team after a sparkling start to the season
Pep Guardiola sees a quality in Manchester City youngster Rico Lewis that "was difficult to find for years".
Playing as a right-back but with licence to roam forward and inside into the attacking midfield spaces that he relishes, Lewis has slotted into the side seamlessly to mean Kyle Walker has not had to be rushed back in following his exertions over the summer at the Euros. Guardiola has made it clear that Walker will come back in, yet he admires Lewis's ability so much that there is no guarantee that the teenager will lose his place in the team any time soon.
"He is always alone. Whenever his mate has the ball, I don't know what he does but he is free. You can pass the ball to him and not just in a comfortable position but where the spaces are so tight.
